The max cushion Olympus 4 has increased breathability and durability to the engineered mesh upper. An improved premium tongue offers better comfort and a more locked-in feel. The heel has been rounded to encourage a smoother step from heel to toe and works with the InnerFlex midsole for increased flexibility. To top it off the Olympus essential Vibram MegaGrip outsole is back.

RUNMOORE is now my go to Run Store. RUNMOORE provided a Coupon Code that just blew my mind. It was so good I could not believe it so I tested it by increasing my quantity to "2" pair of running shoes. Still didn't believe it till the sale went "CONFIRMED". So I get two pair of the best trail shoes for cheaper than last years model discount price. WOW. Now the shoes. I have run in every version of the Olympus since day one. I am a 66 year old ultra runner who trains 50 miles a week on rocky root strewn single track. Three times a year I run off trail wilderness runs of 40-50 miles over 12-15 hours depending on terrain and elevation. My feet are old and with age all the natural fat and tissue that cushions your feet is long gone. I ditched my Olympus 3.5 after only 150 miles because the quality had slipped so bad that I no longer felt safe when running technical trail. The Olympus 4.0 carries the highest price ever for the model so that plus the failure of the Olympus 3.5 scared the heck out of me. But have no fear. The Olympus 4.0 is simply the best trail running shoe my feet have ever experienced. After just 150 miles I'm fearless on the downhills again and my legs feel good after a hard 20 mile training run today. All aspects of the shoe, uppers, tongue, laces, sole, heel counter, insoles, gaiter trap, overall comfort and the vibram sole's flex grip and wear resistance has been outstanding. I am in the process of rearranging my budget so I can begin stockpiling these shoes. It will be a long time before a better shoe hits the market.
Wasn't sure what to expect since I've never really run in maximalist cushioned trail shoes, but I couldn't be happier with these bad boys. I've only got about 20 miles on them so far, but I've been absolutely loving them. The cushion is soft enough that it really eats up the sharp stuff but stiff enough to not feel like your running in mud (unless you are). I was pleasantly surprised at how awesome these felt. I rotate these with my Altra Superior to make sure I don't bang up my joints too much, but yea...these are awesome! So far I haven't found anything I don't like about em!
I have about 25 miles on them. Wide toe box, love the vibram sole, the heel platform is wide and very stable on uneven ground. They also feel like walking on clouds, love my purchase.
